Support ? Within a group of like-minded professionals you have a wealth of experience, opinion and expertise to draw on. The value of that support and advice can?t be underestimated.

Systems ? Make sure you?re organised and systematic in all aspects of your business not just your networking activity. Prompt responses and follow-up will earn you a well-deserved reputation. Keep those that give you introductions informed of progress.

Stress ? What can you do to minimise the stress in your life? If your head is in a spin there?s no way you can win. You work hard and you must therefore reap some rewards ? treat yourself.

Snooze ? It is a cardinal sin to nod off in public. Make sure you get a good night?s sleep!

(Scones ? Whether it?s a breakfast meeting, lunch or afternoon tea do remember it?s not just about the food!)

Thanks ? Always remember to thank those that give you great service, a fabulous introduction or just advice and support. They?ll come back for more?

Time ? It?s important to put aside time outside of your networking activity to work on getting to know fellow members and bringing business to others. If you think you can just turn up for the event and that?s it, you?ll never reap the true awards available. I bet you then complain ?networking never works??

Team ? Once you?ve found a networking group that suits you and your business (do the leg work!) you?ll find yourself part of an incredibly loyal team: A mastermind group that you can share and learn from; A group that will be ?advertising? your business for you ? a marketing team.

Temptation ? Keep it at bay?I?m talking about the chocolates ? you?

Understand ? In order to create business opportunities for others its imperative that you understand exactly how to introduce them. What should you be listening out for? What are the key triggers? You will need to explore these together ? in depth. Maybe over a beer!

Ugly ? Put on the slap and brush your hair ? do make an effort!

Unlimited ? Give freely and expect nothing in return.

Umpire ? On the odd occasion that a mediator is required do feel free to step in and sort out the fray?but always make sure you?re not the one spitting out the mouth guard!
